What is the Mulberry and Bigland Green Centre?

The Mulberry and Bigland Green Centre (MBGC) is an exciting and innovative building project with three main partners.

This is an exciting development for the local community of Shadwell, its schools and families. The development will facilitate partnership working to provide education, training, healthcare, advice and support for the local community and specifically for children aged between 0 and 19 and their families.

The building will contain a Children’s Centre providing classes, workshops, health support and information to families with children under five years old. Classrooms will be available for adult learning, family learning and school workshops.

A hall will be available for larger functions and we hope to be in a position to rent this area out to interested parties. There will also be a theatre which will seat 120 people when at maximum capacity.

Offices will be available for staff based in the building full time.

The partners involved with this project are Mulberry School for Girls, Bigland Green Primary School and West Shadwell Children's Centre.

Where will it be?

The Mulberry and Bigland Green Centre will be located in Shadwell with access from Bigland Street. The centre is a 5 minute walk from both Commercial Road and Shadwell DLR station.
